Assistência técnica, extensão rural e agricultura familiar no Nordeste: panorama, desempenho recente e desafios

This article aimed to give a brief panorama concerning the public ATER course, highlighting characteristics of current assistance given Northeastern family farmers. To do so, it was reviewed part literature on subject and analyzed information extracted from 2017 IBGE Agricultural Census, Annual Budget Law (LOA) Activity Reports carried out by agencies in states Alagoas, Sergipe, Piauí, Pernambuco Rio Grande Norte, year 2020. Analyzing LOA data, is highlighted budget drop recent dismantling several achievements implemented before 2016 policy changes. Besides, census data show that more than 90% farmers Northeast declared they did not have access services 2017. Considering what mentioned above, concluded terms budget, personnel infrastructure needs restructuring strengthening.
